Lotsa Luck Bar & Grill

We have been driving by Lotsa Luck for years and have been attracted, but never stopped. That all changed when we found out they open at 7 am AND serve breakfast! Ding, ding, jackpot!

That’s a little bit of a pun if you are familiar with this place because they have a touch of a gambling theme going on. Playing card images grace the doors as well as hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades strewn about the interior space.

It’s a smallish place, but does have a few parking spots in the small lot out front. Inside you will find a video poker nook off to the right, a long bar with comfy swivel seats and then a dining area that feels a little like a Denny’s with some tables and booths. They’ve even managed to squeeze in a pool table in back.

But the chairs! Let’s talk about the chairs for a moment. High backed, black leatherette rolling desk chairs. WTF? Was there a fire sale at an office building nearby? I don’t know the history there, but I sure appreciated the comfort.

My husband and I joke around that he’s at “the office” whenever he works from our local watering hole, but Lotsa Luck Bar & Grill takes that idea to the next level.

Petroula was working both sides of the bar on our visit with calm efficiency. 4 taps, all crap and a full bar. The menu for breakfast is limited but had all our favorites, and the food did not disappoint. The lunch/dinner menu was also pretty predictable.

That’s a fairly accurate description of the whole place in fact: predictable. With one exception – where’s the smell? That characteristic dive bar odor of industrial strength cleaner and urinal cake – our nostrils detected nary a whiff.
