Rumpus Room
The name “Rumpus Room” gives me visions of a 1970’s era basement lair with rust colored shag carpeting, triangle shaped ashtrays, earth toned velveteen couches and a cheeky wet bar serving up cheap pull tab topped beers and Reunite on ice for the ladies…ok, back from fantasy land. This Rumpus Room is none of that. Except there are earth toned colored vinyl booths along the front, otherwise this is your pretty basic neighborhood dive bar. In a great way!
9 taps, 2 crap, 2 ciders plus a full bar tended by Cami on the night we visited who provided the signature snappy repartee found amongst only the most elite of dive bar staff. Food is what can be fried, microwaved or eaten straight from a package. We sampled the poppers and a tasty corndog that “paired delightfully” with our gin martini, quoth Cami. No happy hour data posted anywhere, BUT you can get $2.75 PBR tall boys all day AND a bottle of champagne when you host your birthday party in house! 3 shuffleboard tables available with tournaments every Saturday. Keno and video poker machines for additional entertainment. Live music and karaoke promised.
All in all, Rumpus Room a comfy, tidy little dive bar rife with regulars.
