Slim’s Restaurant & Lounge is very much a Portland style dive bar – Slim’s has excellent food and tap list in a pleasingly divey setting. Dark and smelly with a sticky floor, don’t-stay-too-long barstools and an awesome menu with solid beer and whiskey selections. Fun old skool beer tchotchkes.

We came for breakfast, and it was a little slow, but worth the wait. Non-traditional chicken fried steak. Hand formed sausage patties. Big chunks of onion and peppers in home fries. Plates almost too pretty to be dive bar fare.

Pool and video poker. Live music. Appears to have a strong following for sporting events. Tricky parking.

Slim’s Restaurant & Lounge is a prime example of a destination dive bar!
