The Cosmo Lounge
The Cosmo Lounge is the quintessential dive bar. Pleasingly dark with lots of bar stools complete with the always-a-good-sign ripped-vinyl seats, scattered tables, and a surly bartendress. There’s fun, cheesy velvet art, an assortment of B movie posters, and even framed bad 80’s albums on the walls. They have one pool table tucked away in a separate room. A few obligatory video poker machines. Good music playing.
No food except cheap packaged snacks, hot dogs, and one-dollar Jell-o shots. If any of those actually count as “food”.
All in all, Cosmo Lounge is a small hole in the wall ideally designed for a quick, stiff drink.

Co-Conspirator Note (from Arthur): At the time of this writing, Cosmo Lounge is the farthest south dive bar among our reviews. This site is dedicated to reviewing locations that are inside Portland’s five (yes FIVE) quadrants, and the SE Portland quadrant extends farther south than Cosmo — so there may be more to come down in that far-south stretch of our metropolitan area!
